Weekend Fun

This weekend I went to the Cecil County Fair. Other then the downpour during the demolition derby. We stuck it out as long as we could.

USA all the way!

It's time for the Olympics!  I can't wait!  I love everything about it...the competition...the events...the athletes!  So jealous that my twin is there working and a cousin went to watch some events!

Oh and don't forget to check out this video {here} of Team USA Swim Team doing their version of Call Me Maybe (swimmers always know how to have fun)

Enjoy the weekend!

Thought for the day

The Olympics opening ceremony is tomorrow.  I can't wait for the games - swimming events of course are my favorite.  The quote for the day seemed appropriate.  #findgreatness

Weekend Fun ~ CT edition

I spent the weekend with Vic, my twin, in Connecticut.  She was getting ready for a 3 week trip for work...to the Olympics!  Very cool and I will admit I am a little jealous. (just don't tell her I said that).  We did a lot of shopping, too much really. The picture below is in Stamford on our way to lunch.

This is just from day one of our shopping weekend extravaganza!  Oh boy was my bank account not happy with me...

Sunday we went to Greenwich.  It was a beautiful day to be outside rather then walking in a mall.  We did more shopping and eating. That was the theme for the weekend.

My new obsession and favorite thing from the entire weekend - Pinkberry!  We had it twice in 4 days.  I would have went for a 3rd but Vic said no.  I'm rally bummed there is not once closer to home.

So glad there was an easy way to get all my purchases + some stuff Vic wanted me to bring home for her.  Love the shopping carts in her building.  Smartest thing ever!

Finally got a good picture of us, and yes we are in the car.

Thanks for a great weekend!

Weekend Fun

You know it's going to be a good weekend when it starts with cupcakes from Crumbs Bake Shop.  I flew through Newark Airport and just had to pick up a 6 pack to take home with me.

After a pleasant drive to the shore (no traffic), I wanted a nice relaxing evening.  So I put on a classic movie and enjoyed the beach breeze.

Mother Nature was not cooperating, Saturday was not a beach day.  With not much else to do I enlisted my cousin to go shopping!  I picked up some new towels and a bath mat for my guest bath.  I think these colors will pop against the charcoal grey walls. (Once I get everything in I will share)

For all those who know me, my closet is mostly back and white.  Here is proof I am branching out!  I love this bright orange shirt I got on super clearance from the Gap - $6.99 with an extra 40% off

Finally got to the beach on Sunday.  It was a muggy day but any day on the beach is a good day!

This new hat was another purchase from the weekend!  I am always trying hats on in the store.  I need to wear this one more then just around the house.

Here's hoping for a great week!

Enough

It's been a crazy week, most of it not good.  Do you ever have a week where you feel like all the gods are against you?  That was me this week and ironically, today, Friday, the 13th was the best day - go figure!  I found the saying below via {pinterest} and go back to it whenever I am down.

You are enough.
Today, tomorrow, and every day thereafter.
You are perfectly adequate, without needing to change a single thing about yourself.
This doesn’t mean that you aren’t allowed to want to grow, evolve or improve.
It doesn’t mean you don’t have flaws.
It means you are worthy of love.
It means that you deserve to love yourself in spite of your imperfections.
No matter who you are, where you’re from, or what you have been through, you are deserving of love.
Be kind to yourself.
You are only human.
Forgive and let live.
Let in the love.

Hope the weekend brings more smiles!

Weekend Fun

I spent a nice long weekend in North Wildwood with my family.  I do love the Jersey Shore.  Friday morning we went for a bike ride along the boardwalk.

Then spent the afternoon at the beach.  My new beach accessories from Thirty-One were perfect.  The cooler bag kept the water nice and cold during the hottest weekend of the year.

Mom, Dad and I treated ourselves to a home cooked seafood dinner.  Steamers on the grill are prefect!  The lobster was for Mom because she doesn't eat the clams (she doesn't know what she's missing)

Saturday morning there was a Maritime Festival at the lighthouse.  The best part by far was this old fashioned soda stand.  You purchased the mug and could have as many refills as you wanted.  My sister and I were sure to try every flavor.

The metal mug kept the beverages nice and cold.  We used them the rest of the weekend.

The temperature got up to 100, which is almost unheard of at the shore.  Too hot for the beach, especially with a one year old.  We set up shop in the backyard.

The pool kept our toes cool as the little one slept.  The breeze in the shade was nice.

This means the weekend was over.  Although I did not hit as much traffic coming home as I usually do.

Until next weekend...

Happy 4th!

One of my favorite holidays! What did you do to enjoy America's birthday?

Catch up

I know I keep saying I will get better at this.
The travel makes it tough, being on the road 4 days a week for work.  But I am not giving up yet.
Hang in here with me and I hope to make it worth it for you!

Last week was a tough one.  After more then 13 years, we had to put our family dog to sleep. Brooks was a fabulous dog and much more then a pet, he was a part of our family.  In a house with all girls, he was my Dad's only ally.  He came home at Christmas time my freshman year of college.  After knocking down the tree we were all in love!  I feel for my Dad because I know this was a tough decision for him, but we knew it was time.

The day after we said goodbye to Brooks, we celebrated my nephew's first birthday! The party was Phillies themed and it was great - well apart from the 100 degree heat. It was a great day with family and friends.  Little Hunter had a wonderful time.

Spent Sunday out on the boat, just relaxing.  We laid in the river for hours just enjoying the day.
The sunset was amazing.  Mother Nature never ceases to amaze me.

Then came Monday and this happened while driving home from a meeting - grrr...
at least no one was hurt.

Hope you all enjoy the holiday tomorrow : )
